During our time in St. Ives we were fascinated by all the comings and goings in the small harbour. The wee open boats went out each day if the weather allowed, and the fishermen met in two small pitch covered sheds overlooking the sea.

I believe that these are clinker fishing boats, right? And up to this day, fishing boats like these are still useful to fishermen, because they are easier to use and maintain.
